Editorial independence is a working method.

Independence

Unmanned Systems selects topics, sources, comparisons, and conclusions independently. A company, agency, trade group, standards body, or product vendor does not receive editorial control because it supplied information, specifications, access, or media.

The publication contains no advertising, sponsor placement, paid profile, affiliate link, lead-generation form, or commercial relationship.

Evidence labels

• Verified fact is supported by a current primary record or converging authoritative sources.
• Specification is attributed to the issuing manufacturer, standard, or agency and is not treated as proof of field performance.
• Claim is attributed to the organization making it.
• Analysis connects sourced facts through a stated editorial judgment.
• Inference is identified when the conclusion is reasonable but not directly established by the source.

Reviews and hands-on claims

The word “review” and statements of firsthand testing are reserved for work supported by records of the equipment, configuration, conditions, procedure, and observations. Desk research may support a guide or comparison, but it cannot become a hands-on verdict by wording alone.

Conflicts and commercial relationships

Material relationships that could affect a reader’s interpretation are disclosed near the work. Future affiliate relationships will not determine conclusions, remove meaningful drawbacks, or convert source-based selection criteria into unsupported endorsements.

Corrections

Material factual errors are corrected clearly. The change, date, and effect on the conclusion are recorded when the correction changes a reader’s understanding. See the Corrections Policy for the full process.
